For me, there’s not much to say. After all the hype that it would be bringing back the old skool days of this:

I can’t help but feel it’s exactly the same as last series, but with a staircase… Still, it’s got me intrigued.
Oh and apparently there’s some christmas specials this year with the Tenth Doctor, but I don’t think anyone is that bothered.

I have to agree: What’s the big deal about this image? Yes, it suggests something a bit different (seems more reddish, and with less of a “rough” texture to the walls), but it’s too difficult to tell what it’s really like. To me, I hope it augers a much more elaborate variation on the wooden “secondary” console room from the 4th Doctor’s era. I also liked the 7th Doctor’s steampunk-inspired console room from the TV movie, so something along those lines would be welcome, too.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
I’d love them to bring back the steampunk console room. Showing my geeky tendencies here, but there was a comment in one of the Doctor Who radio plays where someone who has travelled with the 8th Doctor ends up with the Sixth. When the Sixth presents the Tardis with his usual ‘it’s bigeer on the inside then it is on the outside’, I recall eh companion responded ‘It’s big-ish’. Made me realise how much more they should try to get away with when it coems to the size of the console room.
Well, here’s hoping there’ll at least be a swimming pool.
